Butch Vig will be producing the next Jimmy Eat World album, a post on their official blog reads as follows.

Hello everybody. I just wanted to check in with the blog and give another update. We are scheduled to begin recording our new record on August 7th at our own studio in Tempe, AZ. We have a group of 17 songs that we feel really happy with and we can’t wait to see how they take shape during the record making process. Some of the new song titles that haven’t been mentioned before are “Big Casino”, “Be Sensible”, “Firefight”, and “Electable” just to name a few.

We will be working along side Chris Testa as our engineer and the legendary Butch Vig will also be along side the band making sure we don’t forget to thrash unreal!!(We are pretty sure that’s Wisconsin slang for “kicking serious ass”)

So far the album titles we are considering are:

-Rick’s Big Ass Dance Party!
-Fight People!
-Thrash Unreal!
-Bitch Betta Have My Money!
