Shirley works with Serj Tankian and Steven Sater

Shirley has posted on Facebook that she has recorded a track with Serj Tankian (System of a Down) and American lyricist Steven Sater. The pair are currently working together on a musical version of Prometheus Bound.

This really excites me as Serj’s solo stuff is awesome! Check out his fantastic Elect The Dead Symphony album.

Just finished singing on a track for Serj Tankian and Steven Sater.
Garbage met Serj in Italy some years back at a festival we were playing at with System of a Down.
I was blonde and wild and staggering in pain from my divorce and I loved him so much then because he was so very courteous and human and connected.
As a result I am very honoured he asked me to sing on this song of his.
I admire him and his take on the world very much.
And of course being scottish is much like being Armenian except our blood struggle occurred much earlier in the world’s history.
Brother to Brother
Hand to hand.
Blood to Dust
Tyranny be done.
Amen to that.
