New album round-up

Right first things first, both the release title and release date are not yet confirmed. As soon as they are we will let you know as we will be all over it like a rash!

What we do know however is that the band are back in the studio and have recorded at least 24 tracks.

From the updates on Twitter and Facebook Steve, Butch and Shirley have all been busy letting us know about the new album.

Butch suggested that the album will potentially once again consist of random noises with Steve’s purchase of “The Glamour Box” and that at least one track (believed to be “Not Your Kind of People”) will be a ‘headphone experience‘.

Shirley has also backed up this claim on Facebook saying “all traditional instruments are banned“.

Butch will not only be on the drums as he has also picked up the harmonica on Control

Track titles:

Butch describes “Felt” as ‘Very groovy!’, while Sugar is ‘bittersweet’ and Blood For Poppies sounds ‘Killer!’ There is a track with the working title of either Lies or Lies, Lies Lies and another called Animal which is sounding ‘super groovy’.

The previous mentioned ‘Not Your Kind of People’ features Shirleys God daughter. This could be the closing track.

Automatic Systematic Habit contains hand claps.

Whos, Who?

So apart from Shirley, Duke, Steve and Butch who else is involved?

Shirleys hubby, Billy Bush is once again onboard mixing which is great start. As is Shirleys God Daughter (her name unknown, I don’t think the sleeve notes will have Cheeky Chops on it, or maybe they will…)

Irina Björklund appears on Sugar playing a musical Saw…

Justin plays bass.

Where is all this happening?

With the sad closure of Smart last year the band have been recording in a studio in LA and their own home studio.
